Good Statistics Sources

From StatWiki

This page has some sources that can be used to gather statistics. If you find more sources (that have multiple statistics), please add them to the appropriate category below (there are thousands of sources out there). If you add any pages to StatWiki.org, please note it below the source. As necessary, create a page (and place a link below the source) in order to track what has been taken from the source.

Contents

[edit] Quick Statistics

  • Bank Failures in 2009
    • It would be nice to have a page called "Bank Failures by Year" with data back at least a couple decades --Blake 00:03, 17 July 2010 (MDT)

[edit] Simple Polls

  • CBS Power of 10
    • All of these have been added, but still need to fix some of the sources and sort in the category assignments--Blake 18:16, 9 July 2010 (MDT)
    • Also would be nice to add the tables of demographic splits at some point--Blake 22:18, 16 July 2010 (MDT)
  • American Express has a "Spending and Saving Tracker" that they publish monthly
    • An example can be found here: http://home3.americanexpress.com/corp/pc/2010/mtc.asp
    • Other months can be found in the "About Us" section of the American Express Website
    • Be careful with these -- some are very temporary, so they must be accompanied by a date (which should always be the case) or not used

[edit] Sources in Excel or Delimited Format

These sources provide data in Excel or delimited format (like CSV or other); thus, they can be imported into statwiki relatively easily (using the Table Creator).
